Root Canal
Root canals are a common procedure that help to save a tooth that would otherwise need to be extracted.
A root canal is a dental procedure to remove infected or damaged tissue from inside a tooth. Typically, a root canal is necessary when the pulp becomes infected or damaged. This can be caused by a variety of factors, including tooth decay, trauma if a tooth is injured and from repeated dental procedures.
Endodontic Retreatment
Endodontic Retreatment removes the damaged tissue and material from a previously sealed root canal which may have become infected saving the tooth from extraction. Retreatment may be necessary if the original root canal treatment was not successful in eliminating the infection or if the tooth becomes infected again after the initial treatment.
Endodontic Surgery
Endodontic surgery is typically done to remove infected or damaged tissue, to repair damage to the root canal system, or to locate fractures or hidden canals that may not have been identified during a standard root canal procedure. There are several types of endodontic surgery, including apicoectomy, root-end resection, and root amputation.
