Restorative Dentistry
There is no need to suffer from dental pain. If you have functional issues, our dentists will determine the most effective treatment to return the full use of your mouth and teeth. This may involve restoring the function of the teeth and/or restoring the appearance of the teeth through a variety of restorative dentistry options.
Bridges
A dental bridge is a fixed dental prosthetic used to replace one or more missing teeth. It consists of one or more false teeth, known as pontics, that are supported by crowns placed over the natural teeth on either side of the missing tooth or teeth. The crowns are used to anchor the bridge in place, and the pontics are used to fill the gap left by the missing teeth.
Dental bridges are made of porcelain or ceramic and are designed to look and function like natural teeth. These can replace a single or several missing teeth and are a permanent and stable treatment option.
While a dental bridge is an option it is more common that dentists in Portugal recommend dental implants as they may offer a better result and often at a lower cost.
Crowns
A dental crown is a type of dental restoration used to cover and protect a damaged or decayed tooth. It is a cap-like structure placed over the tooth, and is designed to restore the tooth to its normal shape, size and function. Dental crowns are made of a variety of materials, including porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of materials.
Dental crowns are used to restore the function and appearance of teeth that are severely damaged or decayed, and they can be an effective treatment option for people who want to protect and preserve their natural teeth.
Full Dentures
Dentures are removable artificial teeth that are used to replace missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin or a combination of acrylic resin and other materials, and are designed to fit over the gums.
Full dentures can be combined with 2 or 3 implants to have a retaining element that makes the removable prothesis feel like a fixed total prothesis while placed. They still will have to be taken it off daily to remove food particles and for cleaning.
While dentures are an option it is more common that dentists in Portugal recommend dental implants as they may offer a better result and often at a lower cost.
Partial Dentures
Dentures are removable artificial teeth that are used to replace missing teeth. They are made of acrylic resin or a combination of acrylic resin and other materials and designed to fit over the gums.
Partial dentures are used to replace one or more missing teeth. They are designed to fit over the gums and are held in place by a metal framework that is attached to the natural teeth. Partial dentures can be either removable or fixed. Removable partial dentures are held in place by clips or clasps that attach to the natural teeth, and can be removed for cleaning and maintenance. Fixed partial dentures are permanently cemented to the natural teeth, and cannot be removed by the patient.
